union-flag-11 to 1 Military Mentor

The Military Mentor is designed to help every child reach his or her potential. Our mentors support learners to achieve their maximum potential by presenting themselves as positive role-models and promoting their beliefs and values.

compass@2xWe teach learners how to transfer these skills to real life situations. This direct support has allowed learners to achieve success in the most challenging of circumstances. These programmes have been a huge success throughout our local schools and community.

union-flag-2Bespoke Interventions

This package is bespoke to the schools specific needs . Each programme is designed to ensure your expected learning outcomes are clearly achieved throughout the programme. Throughout the course you will be allocated a military mentor who will monitor pupils’ performance on a weekly basis and produce a written report to ensure evidence is collated and progression is made throughout the course.

union-flag-3Developing under achieving students aged 5 -16

Some of our most successful work has been with the more able, yet disaffected pupils in Key Stage 3 & 4. Often these young adults may have no role model in the home and in some cases are carrying considerable domestic responsibility.

Our interventions have enabled us to connect with these pupils, explain the importance of study, provide good role modelling and set goals which the teachers can follow up and share with us. One of the most successful units of intervention was performed in 2016 at Christleton High School, with a group of boys with whom the teaching staff had found great difficulty engaging in expressive writing and poetry.

The intervention involved shelter building, camping activities and drill. We worked closely with the class teacher and were able to re-engage the pupils in their course. Subsequently 84% of pupils achieved target grade in GCSE English.

union-flag-4Residential Camp – A Look at life

Our 2 night, 3 day residential courses take place in the beautiful Lake District.  The course instills and develops the life skills needed for success; discipline, confidence, self-esteem and team work.

All of this is delivered by our specialist team of ex- soldiers who have experience of this on their personal journey and are able to share humbly their own experiences with the pupils.

Each pupil is encouraged and challenged out of their comfort zone in order to realise their individual full potential. During this exciting course we ensure that pupils are also prepared for their next phase in life; finding and securing a job.

We also spend time on interview techniques and CV writing. We deliver military based lessons including bush craft, survival in the wild, leadership tasks , camouflage and concealment , night navigations , zip wire , high ropes course , you name it we’ll do it !

union-flag-5No Child Fails Programme

We have led elements of this course in conjunction with participant schools for over three years. The programme re-engages pupils who have affirmed failure in their minds and associated this with education. Teaching outdoors in military uniform allowed us to role model self-belief and assurance and teach pupils in a firm, ordered way; resulting in progress being made. A very popular package booked by many secondary schools today.
